February Events at Violet Quartz Studio

This is a busy month at the studio with many exciting things happening.
 
First off we are kick-starting the "Befriend you fat Campaign". It is an initiative to teach people more about the role of fat and/or lack there of in health and wellness, how to be nice to it, accept it, love it, and let it go. This will be taking place  over the next few months. To participate or read more about it, tune into our or visit the studio starting mid week.

February is also heart awareness month so look out for some heart related blog posts, tid bits, and links. We will be focusing on heart health in our Strengthening class on Thursdays at 6:15 pm and heart opening yoga poses in Yoga on Wednesdays at 7:15pm. Drop in welcome.

Reiki level 1 Attunement and certification Feb 11th. Includes a practical component and course manual. You will learn the history of Reiki, energetic anatomy, techniques to further develop your intuition and the procedure for administering a Reiki treatment. Cost $165+ HST. Sound and movement meditation Feb 18th featuring MJ and Dean of Chants and Drums. We are very excited to collaborate with these two  gifted musicians for an hour and a half of inspired music, meditation and movement lead by Erica at the studio. This is the first event of its kind here at the studio and we look forward to bringing more events like this in the future. Cost $15.00 + HST. Limited spots available please email for availability.

Introduction to bodywork for Reiki Practitioners.

This is a hands on course where you will learn:

• gentle joint mobilization techniques to release old holding patterns and create more openings in the body

• how to tune in to your clients unique rhythm to create the right pace of movements for the treatment

• how to communicate with and be present with your clients body/mind/spirit

• how to use breath work in combination with bodywork

This class is a playful exploratory approach to bodywork. The movements are gentle but work DEEP in the body/mind/spirit to assist the client in letting go of old tension, emotions and/or memories that may be causing restrictions in the energy body. The rhythmic client centered approach will leave your client with a feeling of lightness and bliss.

The class size is small, so sign up early!
I recommend you sign up with a friend so you have someone to practice the techniques with after the class.

A New Vision and New Connection with Body/Mind/Soul

IT ALL BEGINS WITH A NEW VISION AND AWARENESS

How many of you reading this blog had an epiphany at least once in your life time, a vision perhaps, to activate the parts of yourself in unison with the Universe and with blessings becoming ever so present in every living moment, supporting you, confirming you, and leading you onto the new path that was clearly unfolding for you? I hope so many of you had the blessings of such a KNOWING in your heart, at least once in your life time. That knowing which may have lead you to your purpose; as the purpose leads you onto a meaningful life lived with passion and vision.

When we see something so clearly and in our minds eye, when we feel it in the depth of our spirit and know it in our cells, this magnificent knowing gives BIRTH to our ability to access such phenomenal power, which is embedded in our original make-up of creation, to move forward with gusto and in steadfast motion to manifest all that our inner truth resonates with. Sometimes the discovery may take certain attachments to various conditions all depending on our road map and how many pit-stops we decided to make along the way as those A-HA moments are often the result of an experience we are given to endure the challenges, all to realize and to discover our true potential and power to create a change within and externally.

Our connection with NATURE goes way back in our cellular memory. All the answers to all the secrets and all the remedies to all ailments had already been in co-existence with us since the second we decided to materialize in the human body. We are all born with this immaculate and innate knowledge of truth before we manage to forget about it all and start searching for it for the rest of our lives. And the whole time it is sitting right in front of us, while it is held in the depth of our cellular memory as we are trying to re-invent the wheel ~ once again!

Perhaps it is fun to know, then forget, and then trying to re-member. Perhaps this is the only remedy for learning the art of living in the now. See, some spend life times trying to find the truth and then life gives up on them before they are able to reach their a-ha moment. Some are luckier, born with a sense that there is more to life, maybe with some awareness about their part in the history, and they are given the tools to dig deep enough to receive the gift of enlightenment at some point in life. For some, discovering their truth and receiving their activation from the Universe happens through a challenging condition such as an illness, accident, or death of a loved one. Either way it is a journey, a chosen one, as we shape and shift the way of our journey and try to make the best out of it all.

When truth is received and it is standing ever so clear in front of you, you are immediately given a responsibility. Choice often determines how you perform your part and honor your responsibility, but once it is felt in your heart through accessing the layers of the unknown and it is looking at you right in the eye, you have to step up to it to dance your part, and then gather up your courage and go right through that portal of transformation, not only for yourself but for the betterment of the humanity.

We each contribute to the evolution of the planet with our own unique cellular signature and vibrational frequency. When you realize the importance and the significance of your part, the need to heed the call becomes a necessity, a mission; and a vision on wheels, to get you and the humanity onto the next level. We are all children of the same truth in our core and we all have incredible things to do, to make a difference and contribute to the planet's evolution in our own way. 

 

With the new year approaching, I invite you to go within, bless your HEART and see the divinity and the light you hold in your sacred body, mind, and spirit. I wish you the most aware and blessed YEAR to help you connect with your original power, and to give you the courage to shine your light  and be who you are where ever you are, always in truth and beauty.

 

May you always inspire and awaken the giant within.

The Joy of Teaching Reiki

I attuned my first Reiki trainee last week and I am amazed at how great Reiki can be. My first student was my sister back home in England. She has been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks for a number of years and usually practices yoga and meditation daily to manage her symptoms. With an operation looming this week, she had been finding it harder than usual to relax so when we talked about the Reiki Master course I was doing she decided that she wanted to learn too.

We started with a distance Reiki session in which she felt deep relaxation and physical feelings of pressure in the same areas of the body that I was drawn to focus more energy. Although I’ve always felt that my family are just a thought away in spirit, my sister found it reassuring to physically feel our interaction even though we are so far apart. Next we did a distance attunement to Level 1 which involved attuning her energy field to channel Reiki and talking about the basics of what Reiki is, how to channel the energy,  and how to treat yourself and your pets. With previous experience of meditation and Qi Gong she was a natural and started practicing straight away. She said her hands felt like hot coals  as soon as she started channeling Reiki.

The next time we talked she said she had been inspired to learn more so she got some Reiki books from the local library and found some chakra balancing and relaxation techniques  that she liked.  She was feeling more relaxed using Reiki every day and had noticed differences in her chakras whilst using the Reiki balancing technique. Specifically feeling ice cold in her throat chakra which she related to a recent phase of writer’s block which has now resolved.

The big test for Reiki was the operation. Using Reiki she was able to stay calm right up to the point of actually getting wheeled in for the anaesthetic, by which time the drugs were ready and then she was off to sleep. I also sent Reiki for the operation, visualising it being the easiest procedure the doctors had ever encountered. My sister awoke groggy but comfortable and quickly felt ready to go home. As well as following the doctor’s after care advice, and armed with a bucket load of strong painkillers, she continued to practice Reiki for pain relief, relaxation and speedy healing.  Surprisingly she found that she didn’t even need painkillers the first night after the operation or even the next morning and she feels well on her way to complete recovery already.

I am so proud of my first student and so glad that I get to share something that I love with someone I love. She took the basic principles and just ran with it, using Reiki in the perfect way for her with complete success. I can’t wait to see where her healing journey takes her and how Reiki evolves with her. She has really shown me how wonderful it is to teach others, to share something amazing and yet simple that they can make their own. She has helped me shape my first class and I can’t wait to see how Reiki enriches others lives as it has mine.
